Vitavanti Healthcare Solutions BV, established in 2005, is a company specialised in the development and manufacturing of medication dispensers, notably the Medido, the company swiftly garnered attention for its innovative solutions tailored to the needs of the elderly and individuals with chronic medical conditions. The Medido device, meticulously designed to cater to individuals with both physical and cognitive impairments, stands as a testament to Vitavanti's commitment to enhancing the quality of life for its users.
In my role as either the Product Technology Leader or Project Manager at Vitavanti, I undertook a multifaceted array of responsibilities spanning the entire spectrum of the product lifecycle. From initial research and product development to overseeing production and supply chain operations, ensuring stringent quality control measures and regulatory compliance, to monitoring product performance in real-world settings, my tenure was characterized by a relentless pursuit of excellence and innovation.
The year 2022 marked a significant milestone in Vitavanti's journey as it embarked on a transformative merger with Evondos, a Finnish company operating within the medical technology sector. This strategic alliance was forged with the overarching objective of consolidating expertise and resources, thereby positioning the combined entity as the preeminent manufacturer of medical dispensers in Europe. This union not only symbolized a convergence of vision and values but also heralded a new chapter of unparalleled growth and leadership in the European healthcare landscape.
Research & Development
In the realm of R&D, our endeavours were marked by a comprehensive approach aimed at harnessing insights from several stakeholders. Through extensive engagement with various entities including plastics manufacturers, production line people, refurbishment team, end-users, and healthcare organizations, we collected invaluable feedback that we tried to include in out product optimization iterations.
In my capacity as project leader, I undertook the pivotal task of synthesizing these diverse insights into actionable strategies. This involved not only identifying key areas for enhancement but also prioritizing proposed changes based on their potential impact and feasibility. Moreover, a meticulous risk analysis was conducted to anticipate and mitigate potential challenges that could arise during implementation.
Crucially, these proposed changes and risk assessments were subjected to rigorous scrutiny and deliberation through collaborative discussions with the company's top management.
Quality & Compliance
Within my role, I assumed the critical responsibility of enforcing stringent adherence to quality criteria and ISO standards across the entirety of our production line, ensuring seamless alignment with all our suppliers. Personally, I wrote the Plastics Incoming Quality Control Procedures, meticulously tailored for our refurbishment team, production line staff, and plastic suppliers.
Moreover, I diligently monitored and tracked defective goods, striving to optimize the management of non-conformity materials within our supply chain. This meticulous attention to detail not only upheld our commitment to excellence but also bolstered operational efficiency and product integrity at every stage of our production process.
Production & Supply Chain
One of the biggest challenges inherent to my role was ensuring the seamless operation of our production and supply chain, effectively mitigating bottlenecks and maintaining optimal efficiency. Regrettably, the emergence of the Covid-19 outbreak, which led to the closure of international borders, exacerbated the complexities of this task.
However, through ingenuity and fostering open, professional dialogue with our suppliers, we not only navigated these unprecedented challenges but also achieved remarkable strides in enhancing our production output. Over the course of a single year, we managed to double, and in some cases even triple, our monthly production capacity. This achievement stands as a testament to our resilience, adaptability, and unwavering commitment to operational excellence, even in the face of adversity.
