About me
Hello! My name is Blanca. I am a product and service designer focused on research.
I graduated from MRes Healthcare and Design (2020) at the Royal College of Art and Imperial College London. This programme has strengthened my skills in carrying out design research projects using interdisciplinary approaches and methods, such as Design Thinking and Participatory Design. These methods allow us to interact and co-create with key stakeholders in all project phases to achieve Human-Centered solutions. Previously, I gained my BA Comprehensive Design and Image Management (2017) at Rey Juan Carlos University in Madrid, Spain. This programme focused on understanding the fundamentals of product, space and graphic design.
I am passionate about addressing people’s everyday problems and societal challenges with creative research and innovations. The areas of user experience, design research, behaviour change, frugal innovation, ergonomics and cognitive learning, particularly enthuse me.
I am proud to say that the British Spanish Society has awarded me for my master’s thesis ‘Dedalyx’ (2020), which was also curated by Sir Jony Ive KBE as one of the most innovative college’s projects at the RCA2020 Show. Additionally, I have participated in three design exhibitions.
Please, keep scrolling down to get to know me better, and if you think we can collaborate together to develop something amazing, do not hesitate to contact me.
Let's design the future!

"I am happy to recommend Blanca Rivera for the project lead position R&D at Medido (part of Evondos group). As a dedicated team member, I was happy to work with Blanca, as I could depend on her work. Responsibly, punctual and with a clear goal on what suited the business needs, Blanca fulfilled different type of roles that was needed to grow the organization from start-up to scale up.
I was impressed by the way Blanca can visualize structures and project needs, and how she is reporting those. As a loyal employee, Blanca would go the extra mile and identify and notify risks and follow her intuition. During her two years with us, she has performed a great deal of product quality related R&D tasks, and her sharp analysis skills and eye for detail brought a higher quality standard to our business.
Blanca performs at best in a small team, where she can organize her work independently – with coordination of clear set of requirements and high level goals. Blanca is a warm person and a colleague I could rely on, and enjoyed our time working together."

"I started working with Blanca Rivera as an advisor for her Dedalyx project two years ago. After discovering the quality of her work, high academic qualities, and entrepreneurial spirit, I invited her to be part of my PhD project, The Use of VR Simulation Mediated by Gestures for the Training of Basic Psychomotor Skills in Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS), as a healthcare designer. Blanca is an excellent person, a great co-worker, and with a huge sense of innovation."

"I know Blanca Rivera from her intern position at MEDD, where she supported our Human-Centered Design activities. It has been a great pleasure to work with her. Blanca is an intelligent and creative Design Researcher. I was proud of her quick learning Dutch related assignments. She gave valuable input during client and brainstorm sessions, and she works hard and well structured. Blanca has a strong affinity with healthcare and put the user (patient) in the centre of all Design decisions. Blanca is involved, enthusiastic, and a very social person to be working with."

"Blanca worked at DBTS in 2017. Her job was to develop our online store for diabetic products. The tasks entrusted to her were: the creation of the DBTS brand, the design and production of products, and the logistics management of the store. I firmly believe that without her contribution we would not have been able to move the business forward. From the beginning, she knew how to capture our business idea, and represent it in our branding and products. When we indicated the type of product we wanted, she was able to develop it in an attractive way and with corporate coherence. She managed to bring the creativity that the business was missing, generating ideas about the design and development of the products. She is a nice person who is easy to work with. She has initiative and provides solutions to problems. In the meetings, she always brought several proposals with which to solve the problems. She is constant and she does not stop until the project is completed. Without a doubt, she is someone who can be trusted and counted in any organization."
